Modbus yarjejeniya harshe ne na duniya da ake amfani da shi a cikin masu sarrafa lantarki.Ta hanyar wannan yarjejeniya, masu sarrafawa zasu iya sadarwa tare da juna da sauran na'urori akan hanyar sadarwa (kamar Ethernet).Ya zama ma'auni na masana'antu na duniya.Wannan ka'ida tana bayyana mai sarrafawa wanda ya san tsarin saƙon da ake amfani da shi, ba tare da la'akari da hanyar sadarwar da suke sadarwa ba.Yana bayyana yadda mai sarrafawa ke buƙatar samun dama ga wasu na'urori, yadda ake amsa buƙatun wasu na'urori, da yadda ake ganowa da shigar kurakurai.Yana ƙayyadadden tsarin yanki na saƙo da tsarin gama gari na abun ciki.Lokacin sadarwa akan hanyar sadarwa ta ModBus, wannan ka'ida ta ƙayyade cewa kowane mai sarrafawa yana buƙatar sanin adireshin na'urar su, gane saƙonnin da aka aiko ta adireshi, da kuma ƙayyade matakan da za a ɗauka.Idan ana buƙatar amsa, mai sarrafawa yana haifar da saƙon martani kuma ya aika ta amfani da ModBus.A wasu cibiyoyin sadarwa, ana juyar da saƙon da ke ɗauke da ka'idar Modbus zuwa firam ko tsarin fakitin da ake amfani da su akan wannan hanyar sadarwa.Wannan sauyi kuma yana faɗaɗa ƙayyadaddun tsarin hanyar sadarwa don magance adiresoshin sashe, hanyoyin tuƙi, da gano kuskure.Cibiyar sadarwa ta ModBus tana da mai masaukin baki daya kawai kuma duk zirga-zirgar ababen hawa ta hanyarsa ne.Cibiyar sadarwa na iya tallafawa har zuwa 247 masu kula da bayi masu nisa, amma ainihin adadin masu kula da bawa ya dogara da kayan sadarwar da ake amfani da su.Yin amfani da wannan tsarin, kowane PC na iya musayar bayanai tare da mai watsa shiri na tsakiya ba tare da shafar kowane PC don yin ayyukan sarrafa kansa ba.
Akwai hanyoyi guda biyu don zaɓar daga cikin tsarin ModBus: ASCII (lambar musayar bayanan Amurka) da RTU (Na'urar Tasha Mai Nisa).Kayayyakin mu gabaɗaya suna amfani da yanayin RTU don sadarwa, kuma kowane 8Bit byte a cikin saƙon ya ƙunshi haruffa 4Bit hexadecimal guda biyu.Babban fa'idar wannan hanyar ita ce tana iya watsa ƙarin bayanai a daidai wannan ƙimar baud fiye da hanyar ASCII.
